In partnership with People Dancing, the Dance for Parkinson’s Network UK offers training for those who would like to teach Dance for Parkinson’s classes. We hold a two day training event every summer, in addition to further training and continuing professional development opportunities throughout the year.
People Dancing offer an online training programme which prepares dance practitioners for the practical, in-person introductory and advanced workshops that constitute the primary components of a comprehensive training programme. Successful completion of the online course is a prerequisite to attend these practical training events. For more information click here
We are in the process of developing regular opportunities for continuing professional development throughout the year. These events are a great opportunity to meet other practitioners, share current practise and research and ask questions. We also run a mentoring programme, which offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside anexperienced practitioner.
Can I work for the Dance for Parkinson’s Network UK?
We are very happy to support and advise individuals and organisations who would like to set up a class or already have a class running. Currently the Network does not employ teachers directly and you may wish to contact your local branch of Parkinson’s UK or a local dance organisation or school to see if they would be willing to offer you support in establishing a class. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of any assistance.
